Top notch coffee - smooth and creamy. Where Rough Hands differentiate themselves is the little details. The chocolate in my cappuccino is high quality chocolate, not the oversweetened cheap cocoa powder often sprinkled on cappuccinos. These are full on proper flakes of rich delicious chocolate.

Absolutely amazing cakes and pastries with lots of vegan options. Been here twice on our visit. Would definitely recommend and return when we are next in the area. Staff are really friendly too which makes the experience even better.

Nice staff and atmosphere. Good coffee and great cakes. Seating is available inside and out. We grabbed the comfy sofas and enjoyed our coffee and cake whilst people watching.

(Rough) Hands down my favourite coffee shop. Ever. The best people, the best speciality coffee with so many rotating roasters to buy by the bean and try at home or to try while sitting in. Can be in the shape of espresso, pour over or batch brew filter. Just love the options and always such good recommendations without feeling overwhelmed. Oh and the fritters are crazy good. I often sit and work here during weekdays, and it’s great, but their no laptops on weekends policy is so refreshing and makes the shop much better to chill on Saturdays and Sundays. Although be warned, it gets busy! Sam & Josh are the best people and are really bringing a community together, not only in coffee but lots of extracurricular activities in the shop too. I look forward to potentially doing some cupping sessions if it gets off the ground! I’ve found a second home here and will always be back. Keep being great Rough Hands

Always feel confident in a place where there's a sign that says "if you like your coffee extra hot please ask", but the irony is (obviously without asking for extra hot) our coffees we're a bit too hot for us so the milk lost its sweetness slightly! Regardless we had two very good, much better than average coffees - I had a decaf latte and my partner a decaf oat flat white. His was spot on apart from being a bit hot, and mine was good too in terms of texture, although the cup was slightly too big even for the double shot that went into it so it was a bit too weak but not significantly. Strangely mine has a bit of a twang to it taste-wise but my partner's didn't, could have been the fact they use nice organic milk and I'm just not used to the flavour though! Vegan/GF pecan tart was tasty, a bit of a dry/crumbly base but probably because it was healthier wholemeal It was nice and big inside, lots of seating and plug sockets which is helpful, I get what they're doing with the minimalist decor although it did feel a bit bare/clinical but it's probably because it's really new and hasn't quite developed it's 'personality' yet. Staff were really friendly which is awesome. Still 5 stars because they were two really good coffees and I like what they're trying to achieve with the place

Decent coffee shop, the coffee is very nice. It feels like a place loved by locals. Though, it’s quite loud.

One of the, if not the best coffee shops in the whole of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. As you enter you have the sweetest welcome, you are then transported to a calming atmosphere where you are able to drink the tastiest coffee. If you need/want you can get the best advice on coffee, you can eat the most scrumptious food (try the apple fritters they are to die for), and a bonus is that you can also make the most amazing friends. If kindness, calmness, openness, and compassion could be made into a business you’d find all of this and more at RoughHands! When you’re next in Stroud, and if you haven’t been yet make RoughHands your first stop!

One of Stroud’s best coffee house which I come too frequently. Never disappointed, they always serve high quality coffee and pastries/cakes - plenty of options both vegan and non-vegan alike. Usual order is an oat flat white and a vegan almond croissant; both delicious.

This coffee haven is not your ordinary café; it’s a destination where meticulous craftsmanship meets warm community vibes. As you step inside, you are instantly embraced by an inviting atmosphere, perfect for coffee enthusiasts and casual sippers alike.

What sets Rough Hands Coffee apart is their commitment to quality and the finer details. Customers rave about the exceptional coffee, specifically highlighting their cappuccinos, which feature luxurious, high-quality chocolate flakes rather than the usual overly sweetened cocoa powder. This attention to detail resonates throughout their entire menu, ensuring each sip is satisfying and memorable.

Beyond just fantastic brews, Rough Hands offers an array of delightful cakes and pastries, with numerous vegan options available. One reviewer, Elizabeth Sparrowhawk, shared her experience of indulging in these treats, mentioning that their selection is not only delicious but also caters to diverse dietary preferences. The friendly staff enhances the overall experience, contributing to the café’s charming ambiance.

Thomas Coombs echoes this sentiment, praising the cozy seating arrangements—both inside and outside—where patrons can enjoy their coffee while lounging on comfy sofas and engaging in casual people-watching. This kind of relaxed environment makes Rough Hands an ideal spot for both social gatherings and solo afternoons spent sipping on specialized brews.

The absence of laptops on weekends creates a refreshingly chill atmosphere, encouraging customers to unwind and savor their time.

In conclusion, Rough Hands Coffee is more than just a coffee shop; it's a community hub that excites the palate and warms the spirit. Whether you’re there for a quick coffee fix, a leisurely brunch with friends, or a peaceful afternoon spent indulging in rich pastries, you're sure to leave with a smile—and perhaps a new favorite coffee blend. This place truly deserves a visit!
